Join the Global Vetiver Farmer Demonstration Program: Help Build the Evidence

This virtual meeting introduces TVNI’s proposed Global Farmer Demonstration-Trial Program: a farmer-led effort to turn scattered Vetiver System success stories into comparable, policy-relevant evidence. The presentation explains how farmers, women's and youth groups, local organizations, NGOs, schools, women’s kitchen gardens, and universities/researchers can work together to document vetiver’s impacts on soil health, water retention, crop performance, pests (e.g., stemborers, Striga, nematodes), and climate resilience. TVNI invites interested farmers, farmer groups, NGOs, schools, universities, extension workers, community organizations, and vetiver networks to participate. Farmers can join by selecting one of the demonstration models, registering their site, planting or using existing vetiver hedges, testing/applying the simple observation forms, sharing feedback on how to improve the draft monitoring and/or their experiences and lessons to adapt the models to their local conditions, sharing photos and results through their country or community group, and—when ready—submitting data for inclusion in the global evidence base.
