Village Business Units (VBUs) | A DAF-Ready Community Investment Model – UNDP Zimbabwe

Village Business Units (VBUs) are an integrated, community-level investment model developed by UNDP Zimbabwe to strengthen climate resilience, livelihoods, and inclusive local economies. Each VBU brings together seven core systems—clean water, renewable energy, local enterprise, digital access, health and education services, climate adaptation, and women and youth economic empowerment—into a single, fundable community platform. VBUs are designed to be high-impact, measurable, and suitable for collective giving, including through U.S. donor-advised funds (DAFs). Contributions support locally anchored solutions that generate income, improve essential services, and build long-term resilience in rural communities. UNDP Zimbabwe is able to receive DAF-supported contributions via Every.org.
