Meet Maryam, a teacher and community leader in Debibat, South Kordofan, a community hosting 2000 families displaced by historic conflict. Led by Maryam, Debibat’s Community Management Committee has played a key role in improving the area’s rural and community development through modernizing agricultural practices and creating linkages between local communities and the private sector through microfinancing institutions. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works in Debibat with generous support from the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) to support community leadership, create employment, and improve peace and stability. #IWD2022 #BreakTheBias #Sudan
