Dignity First | Empowering Garment Workers | Project Shikshantar Phase III
What does dignity at work truly mean?
Dignity First, part of Project Shikshantar Phase III, highlights the journey of empowering garment factory workers across Delhi NCR through awareness, inclusion, and access to rights.
The project reached and engaged more than 600 garment workers, strengthening awareness around labour rights, gender equality, workplace safety, and access to legal support. By actively involving both women and men, the initiative encouraged shared responsibility in creating safer and more inclusive workplaces.
Through awareness sessions and capacity-building efforts, legal awareness among participants increased significantly from 28% in pre-assessments to 84% in post-assessments.
This video captures stories of learning, confidence, informed decision-making, and collective action towards dignity and gender-responsive change within the garment sector.
📢 Together, we can build workplaces that are safe, equitable, and respectful for all workers.
