Healthy Buildings for Healthy Lives
Since we spend 90% of our time inside, our homes, schools, workplaces, hospitals, and leisure-time facilities should actively support health and well-being. Science tells us that architecture influences mental health, clean indoor air reduces disease spread, and sustainable buildings help combat the health effects of the escalating climate crisis. Choosing the right materials, giving priority to natural light and good ventilation, centering safety and accessibility, integrating access to nature, and encouraging social interaction are essential ingredients in a healthy built environment.
Aspen Ideas: Health takes place on the Aspen Institute’s wondrous 40-acre campus in the Rocky Mountains from June 22-25, 2026.
The three-day event, which has opened the renowned Aspen Ideas Festival since 2014, is where health’s biggest challenges meet its biggest thinkers. #AspenIdeasHealth #AspenIdeas
