One in three adults now turns to AI chatbots for health information, and many physicians are doing the same. Given how impenetrable health systems can sometimes be, a tool that can answer medical questions almost instantly, and 24/7, is great. Except for the catch: AI-generated advice is sometimes wrong. Chatbots are here to stay but to realize their full potential, we have to stop the proliferation of misinformation that undermines trust in medicine and jeopardizes patient safety.
