PFAS restriction: ECHA Committees’ opinions and next steps

PFAS restriction: ECHA Committees’ opinions and next steps

Following the publication of the final opinion of the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) and the draft opinion of the Committee for Socio-Economic Analysis (SEAC) on the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) restriction proposal on 26 March, the European Chemicals Agency will host a webinar presenting the key elements of both opinions. The webinar will explain the conclusions reached so far by the two Committees, on the hazards, emissions and risks of PFAS, the risk reduction potential of the proposed restriction and the socioeconomic impacts, including the availability of alternatives and possible derogations. It will also outline the next steps in the REACH restriction process. This webinar will not cover the on-going consultation on the SEAC draft opinion, as this was already done in a previous webinar in October 2025 - https://echa.europa.eu/-/webinar-consultation-on-pfas-draft-opinion More https://echa.europa.eu/-/pfas-2026-echa-committees-opinions ************** Subscribe to our channel: https://bit.ly/321VQgE Subscribe to our Safer Chemicals Podcast: https://echa.europa.eu/podcasts Subscribe to our news: https://echa.europa.eu/subscribe Follow us on: *LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/european-chemicals-agency *X: https://x.com/EU_ECHA *BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/echa.europa.eu *Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EUECHA/ *Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/onehealth_eu/ Visit our website: https://echa.europa.eu/ Disclaimer: Subtitles are generated by YouTube automatically.
