Development and real-life application of adverse outcome pathways for endocrine disruption
This ECHA science seminar features Associate Professor Anna Beronius from Karolinska institute, Sweden together with Professor Terje Svingen and Senior Officer Marie Louise Holmer from Technical University of Denmark (DTU Food). Their presentations cover insights from the EFSA PAN and EU MERLON projects, highlighting ongoing advancements in adverse outcome pathways (AOP) development and explorations of predictivity of non-animal methods within the field of endocrine disruptor assessment.
Who should attend?
This session is useful for professionals in environmental and human health hazard and risk assessment, chemical regulation and researchers working with non-animal methods and AOPs for assessment of endocrine disrupting effects.
By the end of the seminar, you will:
• Understand how coordinated European initiatives are developing AOPs and exploring predictivity of non-animal methods relevant to endocrine disruption.
• Learn about innovative non-animal methods and practical examples from the MERLON project.
• Gain clearer insight into what is needed for these methodologies to enhance regulatory evaluations and improve protection of environment and human health.
