MOVE UP 4: Saving lives through the enhancement of Rapid Response Mechanisms (RRM)

The Moving Urban Poor in Mindanao Towards Resilience (MOVE UP) is an urban disaster risk reduction (DRR) consortiu, project which aims to build resilience among urban poor communities in Mindanao. It offers durable solutions in terms of capacitating local governments and communities through the provision of alternative temporary shelters for displaced populations, developing alternative livelihood options, and enhancing access to social protection in order to mitigate the adverse socio-economic effects of natural and human-induced disasters. With funding from the European Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), the fourth iteration (MOVE UP 4) is implemented by Action Against Hunger, Plan International, CARE Philippines, and ACCORD Incorporated in the provinces of Surigao del Sur, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, and North Cotabato. From July 2019 to December 2021, MOVE UP 4 through Action Against Hunger worked closely with the local government units, agencies, and communities in North Cotabato in strengthening their resilience strategies.
