ACCESS - Facing Floods, Conflict, and Drought: Strengthening Community Resilience in BARMM
In Barangay Dungguan, Datu Montawal, Maguindanao del Sur, communities live under the constant threat of floods, conflict, and climate-related disasters. But through collaborative action, they are building resilience and reclaiming dignity.
This story highlights the efforts under the ACCESS project, implemented by a consortium of local and international organizations working together to reduce suffering and address urgent humanitarian needs across vulnerable areas in the Philippines.
From disaster planning to early warning systems, communities like Dungguan are learning to protect themselves and support one another in times of crisis.
With funding from the EU Humanitarian Aid, ACCESS is implemented by consortium members that include Assistance and Cooperation for Community Resilience and Development (ACCORD), Action Against Hunger, CARE Philippines, Community Organizers Multiversity, Humanity and Inclusion, Integrated Mindanaoans Association for Natives, Pambansang Koalisyon ng Kababaihan sa Kanayunan (PKKK), Mindanao Organization for Social and Economic Progress, Nagdilaab Foundation, and Leading Individuals to Flourish and Thrive (LIFT), Notre Dame of Jolo College Community Extension Services and Peace Center, and Save the Children Philippines.
