Full Circle: A Lifelong Journey of Survival and Hope for Resilience (USAID iPrepared)

Meet Mardhia, a 64-year-old widow from Kapatagan, Lanao del Sur, who has spent over five decades surviving disasters—from tsunamis and armed conflict to floods and typhoons. As a leader in her community’s Climate-Resilient Field School and savings group, Mardhia is now helping others prepare for the challenges they face. Through Action Against Hunger's iPrepared project, funded by USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, Mardhia has gained new skills in disaster preparedness and climate-smart agriculture, empowering her community to face future hazards with resilience. “It’s never too late to learn,” she says, reflecting on her journey to build a safer future for the next generation.
