Josselyn's story: Women farmers in Ecuador are turning struggle into strength

"We are women who are inspiring change." In the mountains of Ecuador, Josselyn Vega and her daughter help run their family stand at De la Mata a la Olla, the community market supported by CARE and its partners. What began with just seven women facing discrimination and earning only 25 cents a day has grown into a thriving fair where farmers sell fresh produce straight from their land. Today, they are leading, organizing, and protecting traditional crops and Indigenous knowledge for future generations.
