Dr Benson Droti, the team leader for Health Information Systems in the WHO Regional Office for Africa (AFRO), discusses key messages around the importance of having information on unmet needs, and the potential of tracking this for African Health Observatory, an open source platform on health data and information in the African Region. In June 2024, the WHO Centre for Health Development (WHO Kobe Centre – WKC) held a meeting with WHO technical staff from headquarters, regional offices and academics from around the world to explore the emerging field of understanding unmet care needs of older persons.
