On 14 November 2023, the annual Core Group Meeting of the WHO Thematic Platform for Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management Research Network (WHO Health EDRM Research Network) was held in Kobe, Japan. The WHO Centre for Health Development (WHO Kobe Centre - WKC) hosted the meeting as the Secretariat of the research network. The meeting convened Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) focal points of WHO Headquarters (HQ) and Regional Offices, and leading external experts to discuss the strategic direction of Health EDRM research. Taking this opportunity, the Centre organized a WKC Forum following the Core Group Meeting to exchange knowledge between Japanese and international experts.
