Interview with Song Yuanming, Vice Minister, Ministry of Emergency Management of China

Song Yuanming, Vice Minister at the Ministry of Emergency Management of China discusses the implementation of the ILO SCORE programme in China. China was among the first pilot countries for the ILO SCORE Programme in 2009. In 2014, SCORE was introduced to improve workplace safety in China through a technical cooperation project between ILO and the Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM). The MEM continued to promote SCORE after the ILO SCORE donor-funded programme finished. The International Exchange and Cooperation Centre of MEM officially became an implementation partner of the ILO SCORE Programme in 2024. SCORE is a programme of the International Labour Organization (ILO) that supports small and medium-sized enterprise to grow and create more and better jobs by improving their competitiveness through better quality, productivity and workplace practices. The key intervention of the programme is SCORE Training, which combines practical classroom training with in-factory consulting. The Training demonstrates best international practice in the manufacturing and service sectors and helps SMEs to participate in global supply chains.
