In March 2025, a Malawian delegation comprising officials from the Ministry of Labour, Malawi Congress of Trade Union, Employers Consultative Association of Malawi, and the ILO Malawi Office undertook a technical learning visit to the Workers Compensation Fund Control Board in Lusaka, Zambia. This South-South exchange, supported by the Global Accelerator on Jobs and Social Protection for Just Transitions and the ILO -Irish Aid Partnership Regional Programme on Social Protection, aimed to enhance Malawi’s understanding of Zambia’s workers’ compensation system—its governance structure, legal framework, benefits, coverage, and investment strategies. The visit fostered peer to peer learning and regional collaboration to inform the development of a more inclusive and sustainable workers compensation scheme in Malawi
