SOCSO: Social security support for migrant workers (in Mathili language)

Malaysia remains one of the major destinations for large number of Nepali migrant workers. This video in Mathili language provides essential information about the Social Security Organization (SOCSO) also known as PERKESO in Malaysia, a key social protection system for workers in Malaysia, including migrant workers. Employers are required to enrol migrant workers under SOCSO/PERKESO during their employment in Malaysia. Through this system, migrant workers and their families are entitled to benefits in cases of workplace injuries, disabilities, or occupational risks. Made with ILO Nepal’s Migrant Rights and Decent Work (MiRiDEW) Phase II project, jointly with its partner Pravasi Nepali Coordination Committee (PNCC) and supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), this video aims to raise awareness and help migrant workers understand the importance of being covered under SOCSO/PERKESO while working in Malaysia.
