In this video, we hear directly from the owner and employees of a small herbal drink company in Indonesia that made the switch to digital wage payments after participating in an ILO training programme.
From the logistical challenges of handling cash to the clarity, transparency and reliability that digital payments have brought, their story is a powerful illustration of what responsible wage digitization looks like in practice.
Workers share how digital wages have given them access to payslips for the first time, enabling them to apply for loans and better manage their finances. A reminder that behind every payroll system, there are people whose lives are directly affected.
This video was produced as part of the ILO's Global Centre on Digital Wages for Decent Work's work to promote responsible digital wage payments for workers and enterprises in Indonesia.
