A path walked UNICEF Lao PDR at 50
“There is no path. The Path is made by walking.”
UNICEF Lao PDR this year celebrates a milestone: 50 years of partnership with the Government of Lao PDR, a journey of transformative change in child rights.
This golden anniversary is more than a commemoration; it’s a testament to the relentless efforts and unwavering commitment to the well-being and development of children in Lao PDR.
Over five decades, the collaboration supported by various partners has led to remarkable achievements. The landscape of child welfare has been redefined with significant strides in education📚, health💪, Nutrition🍎, Child Protection🛡️, WASH 💧 and Social Policy 🙌, embodying a collective vision to place children at the centre of national progress and development.
However, our work is not done yet. We will continue to make strides along this path with the Government of Lao PDR and partners #ForEveryChild.

About UNICEF Laos
The UNICEF Lao PDR country office works across a variety of areas to help ensure child survival and promote child rights. Working with the Lao Government, UN agencies, civil society and international NGOs, UNICEF works across health, nutrition, education, water and sanitation and child protection sectors with the aim of realising the rights of every child.
The country is also vulnerable to seasonal, extreme climatic events such as annual river floods, flash floods and landslides, rodent infestation and related animal and human epidemics. Such events have devastating impacts on rural households dependent on natural resources for their income and food security.
