Together as One: Stories of Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures in Lao PDR
Since 2011, the United Nations Joint Programme for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) has played an essential role in improving health outcomes for women, children and young people in Lao PDR.
With support from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the programme has brought together UNFPA, UNICEF and WHO to support the Ministry of Health in strengthening RMNCAH services in Bokeo, Bolikhamxay and Savannakhet. From planning and policy to healthcare delivery, the UN Joint Programme has helped ensure quality and sustainable health outcomes for every woman, child and young person across all stages of life.

About UNICEF Laos
The UNICEF Lao PDR country office works across a variety of areas to help ensure child survival and promote child rights. Working with the Lao Government, UN agencies, civil society and international NGOs, UNICEF works across health, nutrition, education, water and sanitation and child protection sectors with the aim of realising the rights of every child.
The country is also vulnerable to seasonal, extreme climatic events such as annual river floods, flash floods and landslides, rodent infestation and related animal and human epidemics. Such events have devastating impacts on rural households dependent on natural resources for their income and food security.
