Assalaamu alaikum. My name is Ahmed Shehata: I am the Chief Executive Officer of Islamic Relief USA. I am also an Eminent Advocate for UNHCR, and I am here to tell you about a pivotal and incredible moment we are embarking on. IRUSA, together with USA for UNHCR and the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA), is launching its first-ever global medical mission program to help transform the healthcare system for both displaced people and local communities. And we are starting in Jordan, with its rich and beautiful history of resilience and compassion … a beacon of hope and hospitality in the Middle East. This unique collaboration will offer highly-specialized and impactful services and opportunities to help strengthen access to high-quality, sustainable healthcare across Jordan to transform the lives of those we serve in concrete ways. And I am incredibly proud to be here with USA for UNHCR and APPNA to begin this mission. Together, we are committed to addressing some of the most urgent health needs faced by diverse communities in this vital region. And together, powered by our incredible donors, volunteers, and supporters, we will be able to see it through. We believe that health is a fundamental human right, and through this initiative, we want to ensure that no one is overlooked - whether they are refugees, or underserved communities.
