WRI Ross Center Prize for Cities Finalists: Catalyzing Healthy Cities

A record 334 applicants from 230 cities across 77 countries applied to the 2025–2026 WRI Ross Center Prize for Cities. Guided by the theme “Catalyzing Healthy Cities,” this Prize cycle sought pioneering projects responding to growing pressures around public health, climate risk and inequality — by improving access to nature, mobility and everyday services people rely on. The five finalists from Atlanta, Loja, Makassar, Manila and Nairobi demonstrate how ambitious but practical ideas can improve daily life while creating ripple effects within and beyond their cities. Together, they offer powerful lessons for how cities around the world can become healthier, more accessible and more resilient. Learn more at https://prizeforcities.org/
