How Water Quality Monitoring Is Transforming Tilapia Farming in Egypt | Fish Welfare & Aquaculture

Water quality is one of the most important factors influencing fish health, welfare and farm productivity, yet many aquaculture producers still rely on observation rather than routine monitoring. In this video, farmers, aquaculture consultants and researchers share their experiences from the Tilapia Welfare Project in Egypt, led by FAI and implemented by Ethical Seafood Research (ESR) in partnership with Aqua Vet Egypt. The project trained farmers to monitor key water quality parameters, use digital recording tools and adopt a more preventative approach to farm management. Hear directly from fish farmers and technical experts about how regular monitoring of dissolved oxygen, ammonia and pH helped them: ☑️ Improve fish welfare and health. ☑️ Identify water quality issues before they became major problems. ☑️ Increase productivity and profitability. ☑️ Use digital welfare assessment tools for better decision-making. The film highlights how practical, evidence-based interventions can support more sustainable and responsible aquaculture while empowering farmers to take control of water quality management. #TilapiaFarming #Aquaculture #FishWelfare #AquaticAnimalWelfare #Egypt
