The Head of the UN Office in Vienna and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Monica Juma, was honoured to meet Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, a longstanding friend and supporter of the United Nations, at the Hofburg. Ms Juma conveyed the UN’s appreciation of Austria’s steadfast partnership and commitment to the UN family in Vienna, a city that embodies the spirit and practice of multilateralism: “As our host country, Austria continues to set a strong example, anchoring a system of shared purpose at a time when the world needs it dearly.” As she starts her tenure Ms. Juma is looking forward to deepening the cooperation between the UN in Vienna and Austria.
