🛡️ Today’s protection challenges cannot be solved through asylum policy alone. A more comprehensive approach, including enhanced legal pathways, effective and fair return procedures, and better forecasting tools, is essential for building resilient and future-ready migration systems. 🎥 Reflecting this perspective, Patrick Eba, Deputy Director of the Division of International Protection and Solutions at UNHCR, emphasised the need for diversified mobility options to address evolving protection needs more effectively, noting: “We cannot see the challenge of asylum only through the lens of asylum. Part of the challenge we are confronted with is a challenge of human mobility. To hope that asylum alone will deliver the response is a mistake. We need to recognise that part of the response lies in making migration work.
