🧩Reintegration is more than an individual return process: it is a development opportunity. When aligned with national priorities and supported by the right actors, it can strengthen social cohesion and the long-term resilience of local economies. 🎥 In this context, Catherine Udida, Director for Migrant Affairs at Nigeria’s National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, underscores the importance of approaching reintegration in a holistic and sustained manner, noting: “Too often, reintegration focuses narrowly on livelihoods or short-term training, while psychosocial needs are overlooked. Returnees require emotional support, as well as the buy-in from the communities they return to. This is essential for healing, addressing trauma, and reducing stigma.
