Early Findings from Small Firm Diaries USA

Early Findings from Small Firm Diaries USA

NOTE: Because of the preliminary nature of this data, the number of firms included in each figure varies from 30 to 70 firms. We have included as many months of data, and as many firms as possible, for each figure. We expect these figures to change as the team gathers and normalizes more data. Description Since the launch of the Small Firm Diaries USA, our research team has been busy collecting data from more than 80 small firms, and we’re excited to share what we’re learning so far. By following firms in low-income communities over time, the research takes an unusually close look at the financial lives of small businesses to surface how business owners manage volatility, respond to shocks, and make decisions that shape their businesses and their workers. Join us for an inside look into our early findings and discussion on what they may mean for policy, practice, and efforts to better support small firms and workers. Panelists Tonya Rapley, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs Sherri Lane, Assistant Commissioner for Capital Access and Business Programs, NYC Small Business Services Joyce Klein, Senior Director of the Economic Opportunities Program, Aspen Institute Moderator Timothy Ogden, Managing Director, Financial Access Initiative
