The Fire in the Belly : Poetry as Political Memory
The Fire in the Belly: Poetry as Political Memory is an exploration of labour, migration, and resistance through the voices of revolutionary poets.
From the streets of post-independence India to the margins of industrial cities, this episode traces how the working class has resisted the shackles of power through poetry and song.
Featuring works by Sukanta Bhattacharya, Namdeo Dhasal, Mohanachand Patil, and Mallika Sengupta, the episode brings together histories of caste, class, and gender, asking: who builds the world, and who gets to belong in it?
