National Conclave on Occupational Health and Safety of Sanitation Workers

The conclave, held on 1–2 August 2024 in Mumbai, focused on occupational health in the sanitation sector and brought together WASH practitioners, academicians, policy influencers, labour rights advocates, and sanitation workers to explore preventive, inclusive, and systemic solutions through an intersectional lens. Sanitation workers continue to face severe occupational, health, and social risks due to hazardous exposure, informal employment, and caste- and gender-based exclusion.
