The 16 manufacturing partners who have joined the mRNA Technology Programme since 2021will enter Phase 2.0 in 2026. A great opportunity to move forward with the application of the mRNA technology received from Afrigen in South Africa. The Programme has benefited from strong political and financial backing, mobilising $123 million in funding from diverse contributors, including #Belgium, #Canada, ELMA Foundation, the #European Commission, #France, #Germany, #Norway, SAMRC, and #South Africa. This funding has catalysed additional investments; for instance, in the AFRO region, every dollar contributed by the Programme has triggered an estimated $17 in additional investments from regional stakeholders and public health institutions.
