InTex project: Inger Andersen, UNEP ED visits Green Thread Manufacturing and K-WAY in South Africa
Inger Andersen, Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme visited in June 2023 Green Thread Manufacturing and K-WAY, two of the 15 SMEs participating in UNEP’s EU-funded InTex project and part of the South Africa textiles brand Cape Union Mart.
In this short video, Lee-Hendor Ruiters (Regional Manager, National Cleaner Production Centre of South Africa) and Zubeida Zwavel (Executive Director, Centre for African Resource Efficiency and Sustainability) explain more about the impacts of the textile sector and the objectives of the three-year project, "Innovative Business Practices and Economic Models in the Textile Value Chain (InTex)".
