Application of USEtox in Sri Lanka industry: Union Chemicals Lanka PLC
An interview with Sriyanka Mendis, Research and Development Manager of Sri Lankan company Union Chemicals Lanka PLC, and has been trained on and used USEtox to inform their operations and product development.
The company, a manufacturing organization for chemicals products specialized in waterborne polymer dispersion, shared their learning experiences and how the USEtox tool has helped them to use more eco-friendly alternatives to harmful chemicals (e.g. ammonia) in their products. The company is also using the USEtox tool for awareness raising purposes to inform their customers that the company is taking an evidence and science-based approach in phasing out Chemicals of Concern (CoC) from their products.
