Farmers like Nshimrimana Caritas are the primary protectors of Africa’s soils

The FAO predicts that by 2050, 90% of the planet’s soils could be degraded. Small-scale farms comprise 80% of Africa’s farmland. As a result, smallholder farmers are the primary protectors of Africa’s soils. With the help of One Acre Fund provided training, they are ensuring the health of their soils for the good of future generations, and for the health of the planet.
