When Seeds Return Home

When Seeds Return Home

What happens when native potato varieties return to the communities where they were first developed? Through repatriation, potatoes conserved in genebanks are returned to farming communities in the Andes, helping restore biodiversity, strengthen food security, and preserve traditional knowledge for future generations. More than the return of seeds, repatriation reconnects people with their agricultural heritage and supports resilient food systems in a changing climate. Produced by the International Potato Center (CIP).
