UNMISS sends air patrol to Kapoeta as part of its enhanced civilian protection efforts
“Competition over resources can quickly ignite insecurity,” says Sam Felix Makuja, a civil society representative. “We need constant interaction with #UNMISS for communities to feel that we are still being protected.”
Sam was speaking to a patrolling #UNMISS team in Kapoeta, Eastern Equatoria, who flew in from our integrated field office in #SouthSudan’s capital, Juba, to meet authorities and civil society. The @UNPeacekeeping mission continues to partner with civil society actors, who play a key role in early warning and response efforts to reduce tensions and prevent conflict.
