Mega Camp, Benue State: Building Brighter Futures Beyond Displacement
Megacamp in Benue State, Nigeria, currently hosts over 13,600 internally displaced persons who were forced to flee their ancestral homes due to conflict, insecurity, and climate change.
Hearing the tragic stories of those who have lost everything serves as a powerful reminder of the urgent need for lasting, dignified solutions to address the root causes of displacement.
Displacement is never just about movement, It is about disrupted lives and uncertain futures.
Within this camp, there is more than just emergency shelters—there are children finding safe places to rest, women reclaiming their dignity in secure spaces, and families beginning to rebuild their lives.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), in close collaboration with the Government of Benue State and partners, is providing life-saving assistance and restoring dignity to the affected population.
