For 40 years, Tamara lived with her family in the city of Girske, Luhansk Oblast in Ukraine. When the war reached her hometown in 2022 and a shell struck their house, they fled to Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, where they have found safety up to this day. Her two daughters have since moved abroad, and, as Tamara told us, meeting them is impossible under the current circumstances. She bravely recounts leaving everything behind - an experience “words cannot express.” Together with our partner Avalist, we’ve supported Tamara’s community with food parcels, hygiene items, financial assistance, and psychosocial services. 🤝 “In this life, surely everyone dreams of peace on earth,” she says. She hopes that her country will one day flourish again.
