Ending schistosomiasis: How clean water is changing six Ugandan communities

People across six rural communities in Uganda are gaining reliable access to clean, disease-safe water and sanitation, and the impact is life-changing. This project is not only improving health and hygiene today, but also protecting communities from schistosomiasis, a disease that holds back children and adults from fully participating in school, work, and daily life. By empowering local residents to lead and manage their own water and sanitation systems, this initiative is creating a sustainable, community-driven model that can be replicated in other regions of Uganda where schistosomiasis remains a threat. This project was possible thanks to the generous financial support of Unlimit Health donors and project partners including the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Water and Environment in Uganda as well as Practica and SSWARS. #CleanWater #ParasiticDisease #NeglectedTropicalDiseases Practica: https://www.practica.org/ SSWARS: https://sswarsuganda.org/ MORE ABOUT UNLIMIT HEALTH: Website: https://unlimithealth.org/ Join our mailing list: https://unlimithealth.org/join Support our work: https://unlimithealth.org/donate/ STAY IN TOUCH: Twitter: / unlimit_health LinkedIn: / unlimithealth Instagram: / unlimit_health
