In Lima, the path to a greener future is built on safer streets for pedestrians in its UNESCO historical city centre and an inclusive cycling network that connects to the metropolitan area 🚶🏽‍♀️🚴 Through the C40 UCAP Climate Action Implementation (CAI) programme, funded by the UK Government, in partnership with Lima, the city expanded its cyclo-inclusive strategy and pedestrianisation efforts, which are estimated to prevent 890 tons of CO2 emissions annually. By conducting technical air quality studies and establishing new governance frameworks, the city is ensuring that clean air and active travel remain at the heart of Lima’s institutional decision-making.
