Women Becoming Entrepreneurs with the Support of Cooperatives
To enhance the capacity of cooperatives in management, governance, policy and guideline development, organizational strengthening, and business diversification, the “Strengthening Capacity of Smallholder Farmers for Resilient Livelihoods (SAKSHAM)” project was implemented for the period 2022–2025. The project is supported by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland through Felm Nepal and executed by LI-BIRD in Krishnapur Municipality and Laljhadi Rural Municipality of Kanchanpur District, as well as Jorayal Rural Municipality of Doti District. The initiative promotes climate-smart agriculture and disaster-risk reduction practices and technologies to improve food security, nutrition, income, and climate resilience among target beneficiaries. This work is carried out in collaboration with the Naurangi Women Agriculture Cooperative, located in Laljhadi-1 of Kanchanpur. The three-minute documentary video, “Women Becoming Entrepreneurs with the Support of Cooperatives,” showcases the project’s contributions to strengthening cooperative management, financial and input support systems, human resources, capacity building, policy and guideline formulation, and institutional linkages. As a result of these interventions, the cooperative has now emerged as a key hub for fostering women’s entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.Women Becoming Entrepreneurs with the Support of Cooperatives
