All over the world, cities’ climate projects in need of financing are presenting valuable opportunities for enhanced collaboration between national and local governments. Initiatives like the Coalition for High Ambition Multilevel Partnership (CHAMP) – a commitment made by national governments to work with subnational governments when developing and implementing climate strategies – help turn climate ambition into actions. The backbone of these initiatives is robust, standardized data, such as that being submitted by CDP disclosers. In 2024, 440+ cities from 38 CHAMP endorser countries disclosed 1,900+ climate projects through CDP-ICLEI track.
