Meet Imma Espel, Owner Bauma de les Deveses Our fourth substory for our campaign for the Agència Catalana de Turisme / Catalan Tourist Board and Visit Pirineus - Pirineus de Catalunya, follows the story of Imma Espel, owner of Bauma de les Deveses. For Imma, the traditions and history of the region are inseparable from the land itself. Her vineyards and orchards of aromatic and medicinal plants are more than a place of cultivation — they are a continuation of centuries of knowledge, care, and connection between people and landscape. Surrounded by ancient stone terraces that have stood for thousands of years, Imma sees the land as a living archive. Built and shaped by generations before her, these stones tell the story of a community that, through its relative isolation in the Pyrenees, has preserved its customs, values, and way of life. Like a cathedral crafted over centuries, the landscape reflects the collective work and wisdom of those who came before, and whose legacy continues to shape the region today. We included this story to highlight another dimension of the Catalan Pyrenees: a destination where culture is not preserved behind museum walls, but remains deeply embedded in everyday life.
