Malta commemorates the first anniversary of Prove It Matters
As we mark 30 years of the mandate on Children and Armed Conflict and one year of the #ProveItMatters campaign, we are grateful to Malta 🇲🇹 for standing firmly in support of children affected by war.
In this video message, Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Ian Borg, reaffirms Malta’s commitment to protecting children from grave violations and the importance for all children to be safe. ✅
For three decades, the Children and Armed Conflict agenda has worked to expose violations, strengthen accountability, and drive concrete action to better protect children caught in conflict. Yet today, children continue to face recruitment and use, killing and maiming, sexual violence, abduction, attacks on schools and hospitals, and the denial of humanitarian access.
#ProveItMatters reminds us that this agenda is not abstract, it is about real children, real futures, and real responsibility. It is about ensuring that commitments translate into protection on the ground.
We thank Malta for its leadership and continued engagement in advancing the protection of children in situations of armed conflict.
🤝Together, we must continue to prove that children’s rights matter, everywhere, and at all times.
