Political finance transparency for a green transition (Environment Day 1 | CoSP11)
Corruption and abuse of political finance undermine climate and environmental goals. This event explored how transparent political finance and beneficial ownership can support green transitions and curb corruption. Recommendations for new UNCAC resolutions on these topics will be presented.
This special event took place at the 11th Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention Against Corruption in Doha, Qatar. It was part of Environment Day – a special theme day co-organised by a coalition of government, inter-governmental and civil society partners.
This session was co-organised by Norway, the U4 Anti-Corruption Resource Centre, International IDEA, Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and Transparency International.
