Empowering Women Farmers in Taiz: A Path to Food Security and Resilience

In #Yemen 2025, a protracted food crisis continues to affect millions driven by conflict, displacement, economic instability, currency devaluation, rising food prices, limited livelihoods, and the growing impact of climate change. 17.1 million people are acutely food insecure, including 55% children, 22% women, and 15% persons with disabilities, all in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. In partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), CARE has supported 200 households in Taiz Governorate, Yemen, by empowering women through sustainable home gardening activities. Through the provision of vegetable seeds, farming tools, a drip irrigation network, and comprehensive agricultural training, women have been able to cultivate their own food, and support their families. These efforts have not only improved household food security but also strengthened women’s roles in their communities—fostering resilience, self-reliance, and hope in the face of ongoing challenges. #FoodSecurity #Yemen #EmpoweringWomen #HomeGardening #Agriculture #Resilience #Taiz
