Inter ministerial Consultation in Qandala
Inter-ministerial Consultation
Supported by FCDO and Denmark
The inter‑ministerial consultation marked the official launch of the Rapid Stabilization Support to Somalia in Puntland. The session brought together key government partners including the Ministry of Security, the Ministry of Interior, district authorities, and the Puntland Police Force alongside community leaders, women, youth, elders, and religious representatives.
A collaborative safety and security framework that aims to bridge gaps between policy and practice, promote accountability, and foster a community-centered security approach that contributes to sustainable stabilization in Qandala town.
Through structured dialogue, stakeholders will jointly identify security risks, strengthen coordination, and define how communities and police can work together to prevent and resolve local threats.
This engagement is expected to deepen trust between communities and state security actors, reinforce accountable governance, and lay the foundations for long‑term stability. By ensuring an inclusive, locally led approach, the initiative promotes social cohesion, safer communities, and a sustainable path toward peace in Puntland.
