Ashwani Kumar, 76, once moved from place to place with no certainty of where he belonged, carrying loss, loneliness and the weight of an uncertain future. Today, at HelpAge India's Senior Care Home in Gurdaspur, Punjab, he has found not just shelter, but something far more meaningful - a place to call home. Surrounded by care, compassion and dignity, Ashwani ji has rediscovered his zest for life. Despite the loss of his leg and the many hardships he has faced, his spirit remains unbroken; rooted in gratitude, optimism and an abiding desire to serve others. Because when an elder finds a space where they are respected, supported, and truly seen, something shifts quietly but powerfully. They begin to find joy and meaning in everyday moments once more.
