Exploring FANON: Decolonization, Mind, and Social Justice
On 25 February 2026, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, UNRISD and SHAP SHAP convened the 3rd edition of World Social Justice Day—bringing together art, research, and youth voices to explore the enduring relevance of Frantz Fanon’s work.
The day placed young people at the center, through an interactive Youth Lab facilitated by Féris Barkat, and in the afternoon, a screening of Jean-Claude Barny's FANON at the UN Geneva Cinema opened space to reflect on the psychological legacies of colonialism.
In the panel discussion that followed, Director Jean-Claude Barny, lead actor Alexandre Bouyer, and Féris Barkat, connected Fanon’s insights to today’s struggles against structural racism.
We extend our sincere thanks to our partners and all participants who made this space of exchange so meaningful!
