ACCORD in partnership with the African Union Southern Africa Regional Office (AU-SARO), the Freidrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ) is hosting the African Union Model Summit Simulation Training and Summit at the University of Johannesburg from 17 -20 April 2023. The African Union Model Summit is a simulation exercise of the African Union General Assembly Proceedings. This was a student-based activity which involves students from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa being assigned to the African Union Member States in Groups of five representing different delegations of the 55 Member States. The proceedings of the summit followed the exact format of the actual General Assembly of the African Union Member states. The theme for this AU Model Summit is “Year of AfCFTA: Acceleration of the African Continental Free Trade Area implementation”. #AfCFTAxAUModelSummit #YouthLeadership
