COP28 Panel on Loss and Damage and Humanitarian Finance

Tetra Tech’s Richard Choularton, vice president of operations, facilitated a panel at COP28 exploring lessons learned over the past decade by humanitarian organizations focused on how to finance disaster response, anticipatory action, and resilience building that should be considered during the operationalization of the Loss and Damage Fund. The panel was co-hosted by Tetra Tech and Lund University’s Division of Risk Management and Societal Safety. The panel, titled _Loss and Damage and Humanitarian Finance: Lessons from Practice and Priorities for the Future_ , included panelists Gernot Laganda, chief of climate and disaster risk reduction at the UN World Food Programme (WFP), Kirsten Hagon at the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC), and Nelly Maonde at the Start Network.
